Are you looking for frosting or icing?
An easy icing is melt 6 oz chocolate (any kind) with 1/2 cup whipped topping (unwhipped) in a pot stirring until smooth and creamy. I just dip each cupcake top into the icing and allow the excess to drip off. THen I either dip it into sprinkles or non pareils and let them dry.

I followed a diff recipe. really easy.
beat 1 egg white till stiff. add 1 cup confection sugar & 2 tbsp warm water.
I found that it needed more confection sugar, so I added a bit more. and btw, for the brown icing, u just add cocoa. hope I was helpful
