What would you say is the biggest difference between Quark and InDesign? What are the pros and cons of switching from Quark to InDesign? I personally have (edited docs) in both but I am no designer. I need this info to decide how to proceed with a project I'm working on.

InDesign is better Very Happy

Seriously though, InDesign works well with all other Adobe products, such as Photoshop. Most people who use Quark seem to be using it out of habit, not out of choice. If you have the choice, take InDesign.

Well, in Quark it's kind of an obstacle course leaving spots for graphics you bring in from the other programs. But InDesign is seamless if you need to edit a graphic.

Quark tends to be loved by printers. It kinda works better for them.

InDesign is way better for designers as you can really work between the three of them very easily. You can copy/paste a vector art from Illustrator right into Indesign.

Quark is not BAD if you have the latest version, I just think it isn't ideal.

I think there is a way to convert from Quark to Indesign but there is no way for it to go very smoothly.

Why would you send your printer the original file? Send them a PDF, exported directly from InDesign.

Correct, and then you don't have to bother with the fonts and linked graphics...
