Sunday a young couple moved in down the hallway. They don't know me at all, think I sholdn't offer them cooked/baked food for Shabbos, just maybe fruit salad?

Yeah, or a box of chocolates, or tray of candy from Sweet Expressions.

Or better still invite them to your place for shabbos. You could too get some flowers.

Thats so thoughtful.

When I moved in, one neighbor sent in a cake for Shabbos, another flowers. I thought it was so nice of them.

So whatever you decide, its definitely the thought that counts!

I got ONE Shabbos invite when we moved (Thursday) and it was hard.

They moved Sunday, a young couple, but still.

I went over, asked them if they knew how to operate their fridge and stove and stuff, told them they could come over anytime for h elp, and made sure they had a place for Shabbos.

We made them fruit salad also. At least they have breakfast/snack now.

It's so nice when neighbors and friends offer you stuff. I just moved to Coral Springs and the while community has been so lovely. They brought over food, offered free babysitting, and has just been so nice all around. It's so nice when people offer selfless help!
