I posted on the other, not the op, but one of the posters, I suspect one of my children may have Pandas.

My pediatrician gave me a prescription for bloodwork as per my request and I noticed the rx did not indicate the dnase test. I called him about and he told me to check whether the lab tests for it. I called the lab and they do.

What is the test called-dnase or dnaseB?

Do you guys think its necessary for a consult with dr. shulman?

I have coverage so that shouldn't be an issue

I had a consult with Dr. Schulman, and she did the dnase test in her office since my regular ped did not have it on the script.

She was really compassionate and very knowledgeable - I would highly recommend her. We are in the very early stages of treating our child.

As far as coverage, I think that for consults (even if she accepts your insurance) yuo may have to pay upfront...even so, I think it was money well invested.

Good luck and refuah shelaimah!
