My toddler was playing in the sand today and when I went to change a dirt diaper, I saw she had sand everywhere too. I cleaned her with wipes and the shower spray but saw there was still some kaka and sand inside. (Don't know the anatomic terms but I had to push her "lips" apart to see some dirtt still at the top. I used a wipe around one of my fingers and tried to clean as gently as possible. On the third time wiping, there was a bit of smear of blood. Did I do that to her? I feel so bad. She was screaming and she calmed down right away when I finished and held her and cuddled but is there something else going on? Should she go to a dr?

sand is harsh & abrasive - she probably just got all irritated with all the cleaning ... soak her in a tub, maybe put some ointment or something to soothe her skin
