Please advise the best places to go, on or very close to 13th avenue for:

A coat for my 12 y.o.dd
Boots for her too
Skirts with elasticated waists for ages 3 and 5 - weekday
A suit for a simcha for me

maybe one of the bp ladies can tell you an exact address but the jacket spot is a good place to find a coat. It's between 13th and 14th ave. (I think) on 57th street? It's in a basement.

There are so many stores on 13th you can try.

Benetton 13th & 46
Wonderland 13th & 53rd
Tiny Town 13th & 52nd
All in One 13th & 51st
Europe on 12th 12th & 45th
Jacket Spot 57th bet. 13th & 14th

There are more.

As far as boots I go to Schwartz on 16th & 49 but there are plenty on 13th.

Skirts you can try all the same stores as for the coat except Jacket Spot.

For suits you can try S&W 13th & 43.

I don't have a specific favorite store, but if you're heading for 13th avenue anyway I'd just walk around and see whose windows grab me... There are a number of nice stores that sell all those things, I'd say 13th in the 40's probably.

Just walk on 13ave and look around. There is also Europe on 12th on 44st and 12ave that has good stuff for girls.

For a suit for you, there is a store on 54th between 13 & 14 (somewhere near 1320 54), they have fine things, not too expensive. For higher end, you can try near Wonderland, on 13th -between 53rd and 54. There's also Mrs. K (45 and New Utrecht), Chic Look on 13 between 52 and 53rd.

Not too keen on the advice to walk up and down and look around, though, it's so cooold here! Wink

Next, where should my husband look for pants for himself? Regular black, nothing to fancy but good quality.

I like The Right Place, on 18th Avenue, in the lower fifties (54?). It's across the street from a park/playground. I know it's not on thirteenth, but it's my choice for a few reasons.

They have an excellent selection of men and boys clothes, and have the right styles for chassidishe or yeshivish crowd, something I can't take for granted in some other stores, and the prices are reasonable. We get suits, jackets, coats, Shabbos pants, sweaters etc. And there's shaatnez checking and alterations available on premises.

And their service is good. They help you find what you need.

Tzena Rena, that store was great! Just like you said, with excellent service and very fast alterations.
I also went to a few of the places mentioned above and we managed to find exactly what we needed.
