I always check barley. I have found worms in it on more than one occasion. now I hold the bag up in the store, turn it upside down and hold it up to the light and take a look. sometimes you can see worms in the bag. this way I don't buy bags that I know are infested. but I still check it at home. I also store barley in the refrigerator.

I also always check barley. I've found little tiny bugs in them many times. And if you find any bugs at all in a bag, toss the bag because chances are it's totally infested. At least that's been my experience.

keep your barley (and your garlic) in the fridge, this keeps it from getting bugs. but check anyway.

In Israel it definately needs to be checked. I think in America, you should glance through it.

yes, I've found bugs. to check put barley in a cup or bowl fill with water and the bugs will rise to the top. then I sudgest to throw the rest out as well.
