After reading the thread about sending an email to tell the mother what her ds said, I was wondering if you usually email, call, or just text people when you just want to tell them something and not a conversation? The only people I email are the ones who live far away. Everyone else, I call. Even if I wanted to text, I can't because it doesn't work, but I wouldn't anyway. Maybe it's the generation/age.

I almost never call. My boss doesn't like to hear me make personal calls, and I'm usually wiped out in the evenings or not home. Or my friends are busy with their kids.

wow. I got 2 spin offs.
First of all, I dont know the mom so well, so a call would have been awkward.
Second, she is a mom with 4 or 5 kids. If I called and it was a bad time, it would have taken her off guard and been difficult for her to deal with. By emailing her, she can read and respond (or not respond) at her convenience.
The school directory provides both phone and email addresses, so people can contact each other in whatever way they feel most comfortable.
