Shabbos Robe in Jerusalem

Hi,

I'm looking to buy a nice new Shabbos robe - where can I find one??
I already looked at Saposh and didn't see anything nice at all.

suggestions - maybe someone in Ramat Eshkol area who sells out of their apt?

Could someone please explain the "tradition" of the Shabbos robe? Is it really worn Friday night at the table? Even with guests? Do you then wear it to bed or over pj's or is it considered to be clothing? In my background and community, even if it's the most luxurious velvet embroidered thing it's still a robe and innapropriate for the Shabbos table.

I only wear it when I'm a yoledet or so and I don't wan't to get dressed and I can't walk around in PJs either. But in my book, wearing it does NOT mean I'm dressed.

OP here - I don't think I'll wear it when I have guests over.
but DH LOVES them, so I will def wear it when its just us...hey its comfortable so why do I care....

I dont think meah shearim is really the type I'm looking for, more a fancy american one. elegant type...

I thought I remembered there was a Lingerie Boutique Branch here, so I checked Newcomer's Guide and it's on Ezras Torah 27, 2 flights down. Never been there, but I assume they have the same stock as in America. Hours are 8 - 10 Sun - Wed.

By the way when I opened this thread I thought it was going to be a question of if ladies wear robes here or not Smile
