Sorry, couldn't bring myself to put this in the announcements forum ("announcements and mazel tovs" or whatever).
So sad. Made a major contribution to Jewish music and inspired people with his talent and personally.

Debbie Friedman? I'd heard over the years that both had health issues and yes, both were too young.

BDE. Oh, that is sad.
We listen to him in the car. DH and the kids will be sad.
He was a good "Zaidy" for Klal Yisrael.

klal yisroel owes an awful lot to him - I consider him to be one of the great.

A true loss for the Jewish Music World.
I had wondered why we hadn't heard from him in so many years. I had no idea he was sick.

He did a lot for Klall Yisroel with his music. A life well lived.

I loved his songs that were a little more subtle -- "Flying Without Instruments," for example. I played his tapes for my kids when they were little, too!

This is how I remember Moshe Yess:

I remember when he used to appear with Shalom Levine (my neighbor many moons ago) in Megama.
Baruch Dayan Haemes.

They were great! There was a lot more to Megama than Zayde. Though it's so poignant; in the years since then an equally important question is, will the grandchildren be Jewish? Who will be the Abba/Totty/Daddy to ensure a generation that needs a Zayde...
