I walked by a goyische place on Sunday, and there were salads in the restaurnt window.

One had a topping of couscous.
and the other had corn added to it!

Intersting, huh?

I have a delicious corn salad recipe, I usually serve it with supper, & it's sooo easy.

1 pkg Bodek lettuce
2 cans corn
cherry tomatoes (optional)

oil, salt, black pepper, & garlic powder

yum....

Sometimes I'll add corn to my regular vegetable or israeli salad.

Here's a great recipe for a separate corn salad.

3 cans of corns
1 red pepper diced (really small)
1 green pepper diced (really small)
1/2 red onion
4-5 pickles diced (really small)

Dressing:

5-7 tbls mayo
1 tsp mustard
dash of black pepper
dash of garlic

in aussie I've seen couscous added to salad many times.
I've also seen israeli cous cous (the bigger ones) added to salad

I've seen and use:

cold cuts
bissli
corn chips
nuts of all types (except peanuts - my son's allergies)
currants (dried)
figs
pretty much any dried fruit
seeds of many diff types
I've even tasted a vinegarette salad with grapes in it! (wasn't my taste!)

oh and corn is cheap - hence frummies use it - bulk up your saladas
