How long does the average six month baby play on the floor with toys for? My baby will play for about ten to fifteen minutes with his toys before getting bored. I think it's really good, considering a couple of months ago he would scream as soon as I put him down, but I'm just wondering if it's also objectively good? Tongue Out

why does a 6 month old have to do anything? theyre only 6 months old! they like to look around, hear your voice, play with a small toy, chew on their fingers, eat, sleep,... all they have to do is grow! Very Happy

I was asking because his babysitter mentioned that he wasn't happy - so I timed him to see how long he would play on his own for. I thought it was really good but wanted to double check. Turned out he was just overtired that day.

my kid like to those things too - just in a different order... eat, chew on fingers - or anything, eat, play with me, eat, play with toy, eat etc.!!! Very Happy [/quote]

that puzzles me. what would a 6 month old be unhappy about unless he's tired, hungry, hurting, or just kvetching? this was a one time thing or in general?

That day he was overtired. When he gets overtired he is very sad and difficult to put to sleep.

I hope it was a one-time thing. Crying
