I davened for you.

Does anyone know of a tefila or bakasha to say that the results of a test should come back good? I am also awaiting biopsy results and I am extremely nervous.

Thank you for all the tefillos and kind words.
The results were positive, and will result in a thyroidectomy.
Fortunately, it is unlikely that it will spread.

amother awaiting results - IY"H it will be fine, they usually are. You can pm me if you want.
I feel for you, the wait is terrible.

refuah sheleima!

My mom had this over 30 years ago. She had her thyroid removed at the time. I know she takes thyroid medication everyday, but otherwise it hasn't affected her.

My DSIL had the same last summer. It was successfully removed B"H. She is doing extremely well and functioning normally and healthfully ke'h.
She'll have to be on thyroid medications for life, but it is a small price to pay for good health, thankfully...

Refuah Sheleima. May all go well bezr'Hashem.

I'm so sorry to hear that, amother. Hashem should give you strength to get through this and emerge on the other side a healthy and strong woman.

You can post your name for Tehillim if you're comfortable with it.

If the cancer is contained in the thyroid and local nodes it is quite straight forward. My mother in law and a wonderful neighbor both had thyroid cancer which required removal of the whole thyroid and radioactive iodine treatment. They did very well with it and were back to normal life very quickly.

Make sure your surgeon is very very experienced. It reduces the risk of other, long term, complications.

My grandmother AH had it and the radioactive iodine treatment and lived with all her other medical problems for another 20 years. She lived until she was 87 BH and it was definitely old age, not the thyroid issue that she died from.
Wishing you refuah shlemah bekarov!
