It feels weird discussing Pesach now when I haven't even figured yet out what I'm doing for Purim, but since this recipe came up on the other thread I'll do it now before I forget.
I made this last year, as I wrote, but for some reason it flopped.
The crumbs were really oily and never attained the proper consistency, even after extensive baking. The final product, though it tasted great, was rather mushy and oily.
It's really strange because the previous year it came out great shock
The crumb recipe is very straightforward and seemingly foolproof, and I made it exactly as written, both years in a row. I always use nut oil for baking on Pesach so it's not that I used a different oil.
I want to make this recipe again this year in the hope that it will come out like the first time I made it. Anyone have any tips? Anyone else encounter this problem?
