How can I make 5 lbs in my 5 quart kitchen aid? Each time I try its either too sticky to do most in the mixer and the rest by hand, or I end up with a waterfall of flour!

I do it in two bowls...half the recipe in each one, then I put it in a large bowl to rise and take challah from the combined amount. The only time I tried to do it all in one bowl was a disaster...

No KA can handle 5 lbs in one batch. Stated max on the Pro 600 is 14 cups of flour, 4.4 lbs, and I wouldn't try that much. Separate into 2 batches to knead.
