Brooklyn, New York:

Where is the closest Mikvah to Avenue M and Ocean Parkway/Coney Island Avenue, that is open on Friday night?

Please respond as soon as you can with details of Mikvah.

Thank You!

not OP- What is Reb. Gornish? House? Shul? Is she the one there watching? Will she accomodate Rabbenu Tam? Not sure if it's worth the embarrassment of it being a one person thing who is a known person, or walking a 30 minute walk each way to an unknown mikva lady...

Not sure if Reb Gornish will accomadate Rabbanu Tam but it's a very pleasant place for a Friday night tevillah. The Rebbetzin acts as the mikvah lady. I always hope for Friday night to go there and be in and out.

unless you know reb gornish personally I cant see why youd be embarrassed. She never asked me my name. Call her about the zmanim. I had a good experience there. Hatzlocha.

They now have a sign saying they will not accomodate people who want to wait for Rabbenu Tam on Friday nights. Is it normal to ask them if I can pay extra for them to wait for me till Rabbenu Tam on Friday or is that really not nice?

they are primarily a sefardic mikva, and the rabbis they hold by say 20 minutes after candlelighting is sufficient. I really doubt that they will stay open an extra 1.5 hours for rabbenu taam.
