colored plastic glasses? such as pruple, pink, green etc, if the black ones are too dark for your complexion?
these seem to be in style

Not purple/pink/green, I would think of either Tina Fey or a little kid, but a tortoiseshell is quite mature but is MUCH more flattering than black.

Yeah, as long as you're not talking neon colors. I wore a stunning pair of blue glasses years agi, before I got married and before they were all the rage. I wonder what ever happened to them!
But don't discount black frames. I'm very pale with blond hair and black glasses work well for me.

I'd try to find something that didn't scream. But I'd consider colors other than black.

yes I have worn purple glasses (in both plastic and metal) but it was a crazy bright purple it worked for me it might not work for everyone....try on pair see how u feel

I used to have purple metal glasses, I now have beige/green frames. Black makes me look washed out.

Only if I had several pairs in different colors, otherwise sooner or later they would clash with whatever I'm wearing.

I have a few pairs of colored plastic sunglasses. So, yeah, I'd wear them. In fact, I already do.
They've been in style for many years already.
