I am ashkenazi and very interested in cooking sefardic foods. Can anyone recommend a good cookbook for me to purchase?

Claudia Roden - Jewish Food. It has ashkenazi and sephardi but she has a far stronger relationship with the latter. Her family is sephardi whereas her ex dh is ashkenazi - go figure. Sephardi recipes from all over the world so a real mix e.g. Italian, Iraqi, Egyptian, Moroccan, Libyan, Indian. If there's something particular you're looking for google or this site are good sources.

No idea. I'm in the UK and don't know what Eichlers is. You can get it on amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Book-J.....66096

Sefardi spreads on three continents. It is larger than Ashkenazi food.
You basically need a cookbook by style.

It seems to me that you mean "non Ashkenazi" as opposed to mamash just Sefardi, so I advise 3 books I love:

Sefardi: http://www.amazon.fr/Si-Table-.....r=8-1

"Italian" (Yekke, Italki & Sefardi recipes used in Italy): Le ricette di casa mia/ La cucina casher in una famiglia ebraica italiana, by Milka Belgrado Passigli

"Greek" (Sefardic, Romaniote, Italki and Ashkenazic recipes used in Greece):
http://www.anagnosis.gr/index......a=eng (note: I had to kosherize one or two pictures)

Just use a dictionary for the ingredients of the two first! Wink it's worth it. Already kosher (though you have to check if it's on your level and minhag, as always), "real" and delicious.
