Some have the minhag to make a special occasion when a child or husband has the same name as the night's Ushpiz; care to discuss?

Never heard of that but when DH asked DD who's coming to visit us in our sukkah (ie - Bubby, Zaidy etc) she said, "The Rebbes!" At least I know she listens!

my fil likes cherry pie so for the day of his ushpizin we make sure to serve that for dessert.
