Has anyone ever had a child under 5 have cellulitis/ Staph infection ? Please post a very worried mother....

Yes, My 2 1/2 yr old son had cellulitis after a very bad reaction to mosquito bites, he was put on antibiotics and within 3 days was back to himself! Now anytime he has bites I make sure to cover them up so he cant scratch them. Hope all goes well!

Both of my daughters (age 4 & 2) are allergic to insect bites which has caused cellulitis at least 2-3 times. I have learnt how to treat them & detect the infection quick enough so they dont turn into a bad case. I use insect repellent when we go out, I put on bactroban on any bites & if I see a bite has redness spreading around it I go to the dr right away to have her put onto antibiotics.
