Here in the UK I tried asking for Pepper Steak at the butchers and they had no idea. I got Fairy steak as it looked similiar. I am wondering if anyone knows if it is.

pepper steak is round bola slices, very similar to fairy steak

I think fairy steak will work as pepper steak. It worked okay for me.

But is it the same just a different word or it just doesn't exist in the UK? When I asked for it at the butcher they had no idea what Pepper Steak is!

Pepper steak isn't a cut of meat. Its a recipe, or a way of preparing the meat. Asking a butcher for pepper steak is akin to asking him for yakitori.
To make pepper steak, one uses beef that is thinly cut. If that's fairy steak, you're fine.

If ony fairies were peppers .... but seriously, I see meat sold as Pepper Steak, incorrect as that may be.

When I lived in NY that's what it was labelled. Interesting to know that it was wrong.
