I have sound on my computer but not when using internet.
why did this suddenly happen and more importantly how do I fix it?

I just tried internet explorer and I can get sound on that so it must be a mozilla problem. any advice?

OS as in Windows/Apple what version.
If IE has sound in most websites and non=internet use is fine avoid mozilla

thanks depressed for your help - it felt good to have someone to discuss my problem with. in the end I shut down all the opened mozilla pages and when I restarted it the sound was working.
