My husband flies into LGA all the time and then takes a bus directly to Port Authrority. I believe it's about $15 give or take and it's definitely the easiest and cheapest way to get into the city. He said it's pretty easy to find, after landing just go to ground transportation, most people you ask there are familiar with it. If you need more info pm or post, he's not home now but I can find out more details for you.
