I think 613 Torah Avenue's Lech Lecha song is a little too mature for 3 yr olds, but thanks anyways! Anyone knows anything else cute on Parshas Lech Lecha?

My DD's class made an adorable fall hat - just a wide band of cardboard, covered with real leaves they picked by themselves, stapled on. They sang this song:

all the leaves are falling down falling down falling down
all the leaves are falling down to the ground (TTO London Bridge...)

They learned about Modah Ani and Netillas Yadayim in the morning. They sang (TTU Freres Jacques)

Are you sleeping, are you sleeping
Kinderlach
kinderlach
The morning is coming
the rooster is crowing
Cockadoodle doo! Cockadoodle doo (they cup their hands over their mouths when they yell this. It's adorable!)

They made a cute picture with handprints (paint) and a netillas yadayim cup (decorated with collage-style paper they glued on) attached with a paper fastner, so it can "pour". I liked the fact that this project was very "sensory" and I could picture my DD loving every minute of it (painting, gluing, etc...)

Three cheers for a fantastic Morah.

My 20 month old also did the leaves are falling down, down, down Smile

In a few weeks, when you teach about Yaakov's ladder (Vayeitzei?), here's a simple song TTO The Wheels on The Bus:
The melochim on the ladder go up and down, up and down, up and down
The melochim on the ladder go up and down in Yaakov Avinu's dream.

When my DD was 4, she learned table setting with this song (TTO Farmer in the Dell):

The forks go on the left
The forks go on the left
Whenever you set the table
The forks go on the left

And the knife and spoon on the right
The knife and spoon on the right
I'll try to remember with all my might
The knife and spoon on the right.

They learned this for Parshas Vayeirah, because they were setting the table to welcome guests. There was also a song about Avram's tent and Hachnosas Orchim - I don't remember the whole song though - something like Avram's tent had 4 doors, in and out the people went (TTU Tzipor Tzipor) and I believe they sang it in a circle with some girls going round and round in and out of the circle.

They also learn about visiting the sick for Parshas Vayeirah.

Refuah Shelaima Refuah Shelaima
Get well quick
Don't be sick

Next week - Parshas Chayei Sarah - is when they have mock weddings to celebrate the marriage of Yitzchak and Rivka. They get to dress up.....

Here's one I made up for fall -- it's a poem/finger play. I take 5 cut-out leaves and put them in front of me, and ask the kids to practice making their hands and voices go "whoosh" with me. Then, we do this (I remove one leaf each time I say whoosh):

Five little leaves outside my door
Whoosh went the wind, and then there were 4.

Four little leaves hanging from a tree;
Whoosh went the wind and then there were 3.

Three little leaves, red and yellow, too
Whoosh went the wind, and then there were 2.

Two little leaves shining in the sun
Whoosh went the wind and then there was 1.

One little leaf all by itself
I took it home and put it on the shelf.

I also give each kid a cutout leaf to hold, and we sing to a tune similar to "Ring around the Rosy"

Little leaves are falling, falling to the ground
Red and yellow and orange and brown.

As we are singing, we slowly drift our leaves back and forth until they are on the floor, but don't let go of your leaf!

You can also do leaf rubbings. I'll do a separate entry for this week's parsha ideas.

Oh, and one more fall idea, to the tune of "Hafinjan". You can do it in Hebrew or in English.

Haruach noshevet krira (4x)
La la la...

I have them stand still, hug themselves (for the cold), and stamp their feet on the clapping parts, then dance around and be the wind on the la la parts.

For chayei sarah:

I like to have the kids get up and move. We take either toy or large cutout camels and pretend we are on the road to Haran, and the road bumps us for great big jumps until we get there.

One person is chosen to be Rivka, and one to be Eliezer. They are prompted through their minimal lines -- "Hello" "Hello, would you like some water?" "Yes, thank you." "Here is some water for your camels, too."

Then, I have all the children pretend to be Rivka and haul lots and lots of pretend buckets of water up for the camels to drink. At the end of the pretend part, we do this song:

To the tune of "Frere Jacques":

Rivka met Eliezer (2x)
At the well (2x)
She gave his camels water (2x)
Eliezer as well. (2x)

Rivka and Yitzchak (2x)
Were man and wife (2x)
They were very happy (2x)
All their life (2x)

Also, it's fun to have them make jewelery like Eliezer gave to Rivka, and to do a mock wedding with large dolls or cutouts, with singing and dancing.

Wow ! I just got a bunch of good songs off of this topic.
In gratitude, here are some humble contributions of my own:

For parshaas Vayeira: (next year)
ttto: Twinkle Twinkle...
Please come in and be my guest
I will give you all the best
Just like Avrohom A-vi-nu
A very BIG mitzvah I will do.

Chesed song for P' Chayei Soro
ttto: Brother Come and Dance With Me (or Give a Penny even two..)
I will do a chesed for you
Whatever you need that's what I'll do
Clean the table, pick up toys
We'll all be chesed girls and boys.

For fall:
Tell them about migration, and have them fly south like birdss. Tell them about hibernation, get a couple of big quilts so the ycan hibernate like bears. Hide poker chips around the room, and they can be squirrels a nd gather them.

New cleanup song I just made up:
ttto: Yankee Doodle
Who is working oh so hard
To make our room so neat?
If we clean up very well
We're sure to get a treat. (if you bribe like I do)

Old cleanup song: ttto: The Farmer in the Dell
We work together each day
To put our things away
I'm so proud I shout out loud
Hurray ,hurray, hurray!

Everyone, please keep this topic going!

I made up a song for chai sarah. TTTO vayehu bishurin melech.
Avraham sent Eliezer to go find,
A kallah for Yitzchok so nice and kind.
Eliezer met Rivka Besual's daughter,
And asked would you please give me some water
Rivka said SURE! Not only for you,
I'll give water to your camels too!
Rivka said SURE! Not only for you,
I'll give water to your camels too!

For toldos I'm making a carriage.
Take 2 paper plates and staple together.
Cut off a 1/4 so you now have a carriage with hood shape.
Cut 2 black circles for wheels and a rectangle for handle.
Make 2 babies. One red and hairy (cut a red pom pom for hair.) w/ bow and arrow in hand, and other w/ yarmulka and sefer in hand.

I saw this in a different thread here. Hashem Yaazor posted it.
The malachim on the ladder go up & down
Up & down
Up & down
The malachim on the ladder go up & down
In Yaakov Avinu's dream.
TTTO: The wheels of the bus
