How many cups of water should a 4/5 year-old drink in a day?

Everyone, no matter what age, should 'drink to thirst' that is, keep offering water. When they're thirsty they'll drink.

Thanks for your response gp2.0! That makes sense. But what if the child is feeling ill, and isn't willing to drink unless they are forced to.

If they're urinating often then that means they're not very dehydrated.
