bsd
my son, fell down the stairs (almost 3) opened his forehead. it was bleeding a lot, I didnt know where the blood was coming from. I wiped him, until I saw the cut on his forehead. he was crying, but not a lot. I got the bleeding to stop, and put ice on his head, and a bandage w/neosporin. he showed me, where on the stairs he had fell.
I know u shouldn't let them fall asleep, after falling on their heads, but he did (its his nap time). he's snoring so I'm assuming its ok. I'll just keep checking on him.
I'm taking him to the clinic when they open in another 1.5 of hours.
I wasn't sure whether to call an ambulance, or call the dr, on his cell phone, or feel ok w/what I already did.
when do u call an ambulance, or take them to emergency room?

If he is walking, talking, etc.. when he wakes up I would go to a regular dr.
If his speech is blurred, he has a terrible headache, can't walk in a straight line (or walk without stumbling) or can't function, I would go to the ER.

I try to avoid the ER here, as the kupot are so **** about reimbursement. I generally go to Terem first, but I realize not everyone has a Terem. If the doctor thinks it needs to be stitched he'll send to the ER with a hafnaya, and then you won't have trouble with the kupah. If you go straight and they decide it was unnecessary you'll have a battle...

he needed stitches. so my dh, took him. I am terrible when my kids need something like that. he is very calm and "matter-a-fact" about these things.
BH he should be fine.
