I agree too. Best book I've read for a very long time. I'm not too optimistic though since no one seems to have heard anything about this author otherwise.

To join the band wagon - my favourite book!! Would love to read the book it said somewhere that she's supposedly in middle of... where did it say that is writing another one anyway? Was it one of the papers?

I think I remember from another similar thread, that there was someone on this site that seemed to know the author personally. But I forgot who that was.

I keep hearing about this book. If the author reads this or someone knows her, please let her know that I think it would be great if she'd make it as a Kindle book!

I love, loved the book, but I don't think I would enjoy a sequel.
I felt that the apartheid S. Africa setting added so much to the book, my favorite part was Joey in jail. It just made the book so different from all other frum books. Reading another story about yet another BT couple living in Yerushalayim just won't be as interesting for me.

Gosh, I read it a few years ago and loved it! A sequel would be silly, seing as how they plot has played out. I cried during the part with Joey in jail...

Ditto to wanting another book, but the compelling part is the South Africa aspect.
Definitelymy all time favorite Jewish book.

I think she is B"H just a good author who is willing to write a novel with a different theme, and is willing to go risky - in the frum sens. I imagine that any other novel she writes would be good too. It is a boo I've reread ocuntless times and it is still good. SO few frum novels are liek that. I am eagerly awaiting some more.

I'm sure you're right, but I never picked on that (and it is my favorite book)!
