I have an appointment scheduled next week to apply for WIC. If I'm on Family Health Plus and I show them my card is that enough to show for income eligibility or do I need to show pay stubs etc.?

If you have a medicaid card they swipe that to see if you are active. I don't think just having the cards is enough.

It's enough. U only need to show your Medicaid card.

I believe you also need proof of address. Why don't you call the wic office where you have your appointment and ask them what you need to bring along

Medicaid cards get swiped for eligibility. If you dont have a benefit card, it can't be swiped, (or called in).

FHP is not the same as Medicaid.

I also think Medicaid cards have been phased out, with the take over of prescription drugs by the individual healthcare plans, so things are changing.

Like Rosemarie said, call the office and ask them specifically what to bring.

I know about the med forms and the proof of address, etc. I was just wondering if being on FHP automatically proved income eligibilty but from the responses here I see that it is not considered the same as having a benefit card. Just wanted to double check, now I know I have to bring paystubs to prove eligibility.
Thanx to those who responded!
