are you looking for more historical period dramas? you could try Pan Am, or Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. the BBC Robin Hood was good too.

I'm watching season 2 right now!

There aren't any others like it, not recent ones anyways. Have you seen Upstairs, Downstairs?
It's old, but very similar.

I tried Pan Am, totally could not get into it. I thought the plot and acting were not that great.
Thanks for the names, too!

It's a show that I think airs now in England but is now on PBS, I think.
it's about an upperclass family in England during WWI time and their servants. It's really good.

Berkley Square

Also a period drama on BBC.

It was about the upstairs and downstairs goings on of the house. I found it on you tube.

I really enjoyed it.

I'm completely obsessed with Downton Abbey. I LOVE it! I've watched season 1 and half of season 2 in four days. My husband is ready to kill me LOL! I don't know what I'll do when I'm done with season 2 and have to wait to watch season 3. Sigh...

It's such a romantic time and the actors are just so fantastic!!

Without giving away any spoilers, what are your favorite storylines in the show?? Mine is the Mr. Bates storyline (I'm referring to his new lady friend, but don't want to give her name, as I don't want to spoil it for anyone).

I'm SO excited that there are others who got into this wonderful show.

OOOOOooo....that explains it! I couldn't figure out why some episodes were 66 minutes, others were 55, and I think one of them (the first, perhaps) was, like, 80 minutes. Now it makes sense!! I also wondered how they could consider 7 episodes a full season!

thanks for explaining it to me!

n the United States, Downton Abbey was broadcast in January 2011 on PBS, as part of the 40th season of Masterpiece.[36] The programme was broadcast in four 90-minute episodes, requiring PBS to alter the beginning and endpoints of each episode with minimal editing.[37]

I love historical fiction, Jane Austen is my fave. But I'll take early 1900's too Smile
I like the Mr. Bates story too, though you're only 1/2 way, I don't want to tell you what will be..
and of course Matthew and Mary, who I actually like.

there's always the BBC Pride and Prejudice miniseries too - you could probably find that at the library.

I watched Season 1 through Netflix, and looking forward to seeing Season 2 on PBS. It will be opposite The Good Wife AND Desperate Housewives, which will make Monday a Hulu day for me for the next few weeks!!

You might try Mad Men. It's set in the 60's in the US, but also superb acting and compelling story lines.
