DD2 is 8 weeks old and has a milk protein allergy. I had to dump all my pumped milk because of thrush. well now we have an emergency and I must leave for 5 hours this evening at a time dd majorly cluster feeds. I have pumped 6 times today and only gotten 4,5 oz not nearly enough. dd refuses alamentum and nutramigen. is there something dh can give her this one time while I am away until I come home to keep her from screaming the whole time? I know its horrible but rice milk maybe? or possibly warm camomile tea? any ideas? really thought I would pump enough

keep offering the nutramigen/alimentum.... rice milk is not for an 8 week old,

try some water with a tiny bit of sugar. 5 hours is not so long and you do have some pumped milk so don't be worried and your dh will learn how to take care of baby for this few hours.

Have you ever tried mixing your milk and the nutramigen or allimentum? It may not be worth the risk for tonight, but I wouldn't give anything other than mother's milk or formula to a baby that age.

An 8 week old should be able to go 3 hours between feeds.
Can you feed before you leave, then have the pumped milk given at the 3 hour mark and then feed when you get home?

Thrush is not a reason to dump the milk. The only reason I would have dumped it is if it was before the milk protien cleared your system.
