I'm hosting a birthday shabbos meal for a friend this week. I'd like to make a somewhat fancy/pretty cake for her - any suggestions? I personally don't like chocolate cake, though any kind of chocolate topping/frosting is fine. Thanks!!!

I usually make a regular sponge cake. I slice it open and put whipped cream in the middle. Then I use the rest of the whipped cream to cover (for icing) and decorate with sweets, jellies or icing pens.
