So sad. Such a tragic waste of a talent and for those of us who enjoyed her music, imagining that voice being silenced.... I can't imagine how her teenaged daughter must be feeling now.

She had a wonderful voice and a tremendous talent. What a sad reminder of the dangers and harm that drugs inflict on a body.

Indeed. What a voice she had! How could anyone hear The Greatest Love of All or I Will Always Love You without stopping in awe.
My heart goes out to her mother, her daughter, and her entire family.

I loved Whitney Houston. What a voice! What a face! I remember the first time I saw her on Letterman in 1985. I was wowed then. I find her death particularly sad.

Once again we are reminded that talent, fame and fortune do not guarantee a long and happy life.
How sad for her mother and her daughter.

Her voice was one in a million. She sent shivers down my spine with her "I will always love you". I am also particularly disturbed about her death.
Her music has been lacking- but I was hoping for rehabilitation, not death

It's so sad to hear of people who had 'everything'.... talent and beauty and money and acclaim.. but it wasn't enough and they needed drugs and alcohol.

She sang words of hope, self esteem and inspiration. Too bad she was unable to hear her own voice. I'm in a really bad mood about this.

I was somewhat comforted by the tributes at the GRAMMY's.
