Hi, I need your advice please.

I made my husband's favorite zucchini soup recipe, only problem is it doesn't taste of anything very much today. I don't know where I went wrong.

here are ingredients:
3 onions, sauteed
1/2 head of garlic, chopped and sauteed
9 small/medium zucchini
4 sticks celery
2 small potatoes
4 c water
salt, pepper

so, usually it's really good, but today it is tasteless.
Does anybody have any ideas what I could add to make it more tasty?
I am really looking forward to your responses, TIA

try adding more salt. (if you didn't do it yet). garlic croutons may also do the trick

Thanks Baily, I could try that, it will definitely add to the flavor!

Any more ideas from all those experienced cooks out there?!

tomatoes (chopped or crushed or paste), canned beans (white or red kidney), fresh or frozen green beans, swiss chard, spinach, or kale in ribbons, green or red bell peppers, spices: oregano, basil, cilantro or thyme; also, soup gets richer the longer you cook it. Maybe it just needs to cook some more. Or add some vegetable broth (boxed or cubes).

parsnip adds a nice flavour. A little more salt and pepper can't hurt. If it were me, I'd toss in a little no-added-msg pareve soup base...perks up almost any soup.

My trick for a soup like that would be tumeric and/ or curry powder.
