Fill a bag with items. one item that starts with each letter of the alphabet.
At the party take out the items one at a time in random order, and say what it is (ex.if you have a wheel, say wheel so no one thinks of it as tire).
Then put everything back into the bag and give out pens and paper and see who can remember the most items!
Its a lot of fun!

We played scategories last year. We even made orlur own lists.
This year we r making a treasure hunt and dividing into teams with clues. Etc.
We once played a game where everyone had to bring a kitchen item (don't show hubby) and then we had the men guess which one is from their house.

We've also done headbandz it was fun. Made for great pictures.
This year we will try Taboo - we thought of different places/people/family jokes and 4 words that can't be used when describing it to teammate.

We once did a bingo game. I made up a poem about each person in the family, and the names of all the people were on bingo boards. We read the poems and everyone had to guess who it was about and see if they had the name.

1) buy different colorful pairs of anklets. Mix them up and everyone secretly gets 2- 1 for each hand. Hide hands under the table, and then play memory. For ex: 1st person picks two ppl to pick a hand (chooses r or l) then next etc. It ends up being a lot of fun!
2) give out a certain number of jelly beans that pertains to each person ex: 6 if your birthday is in June. Then the person asks y/n questions to figure it out.

For families that approve of smartphone use check out https://create.kahoot.it/#login?next= Kahoot. It's an app that allows you to create a game show style interactive quiz. You create the quiz and your family members buzz in with their phones (you can play in groups if not everyone has a smartphone). It's tons of fun and you can incorporate family photos and videos.

I made up this game and We played it past 2 years with different groups everyone loved it- Hope it's not too complicated but it's alot of fun this year they said they want to play this game again!

What you need:
Dreidels
chocolate coins (in bowl)
wrapped up gifts (everyone brings one)
favors (everyone writes down one they would do)
raffle tickets
1 consequenses
1 prize (we did a gift card)

nun- Pass the present(everyone by table does it at same time)
gimel-take a coin
hey- take a favor
shin-pass the favor (everyone by table does at same time)

everyone starts with the gift they brought. 1st person starts- spins dreidel and does what letter stands for. when the chocolate coins finish the game finishes. everyone keeps the present they ended with (everyone gets 1) whoever has a favor open it and read it and whoever said they will do it has to do it. Each chocolate coin is 1 raffle ticket. 3 wrapped prizes in the middle all identical noone knows whats in them.
They put their raffle tickets in boxes they chose.
Pick a winner per prize
winner 1: Consequence
winner 2: gets to keep all the chocolate coins (everyone needs to put back in bowl when get there tickets)
Winner 3: Gets a prize

Write each letter of the alphabet on a paper bag and put in an item that starts with that letter. Ex. M-money n-nothing o-orange. Pass the bags around and have everyone write down what they think is in the bag just by feeling it . See what they come up with!!

These games sound amazing! Thanks for all the ideas. Anyone have that logo game where you have a paper of different store logos and you have to figure out what each one is? It's been posted before but I can't find it now...

the balloon/stress buster game
disclaimer-not for pregnant women

everyone gets a balloon. prepare a list of frustrating situation in advance ex.-orange juice spills on a freshly washed floor, missing a bus by a second, phone rings when rushing out, fuse blows before you got a chance to save the document on your computer...

according to their usual reaction they blow into the balloon
1 blow if they get a little upset
2 blows-angry
3 blow-ready to kill, mad

whoever's balloon busts first gets a gift (dont tell them in advance cause then they'll just choose 3 blows for every scenario) I think a stress ball is a cute idea & then the last one can get a gift too (a certificate for being a super patient person...)

enjoy! Wink

So cute! Any ideas for a list of scenarios?

Someone on the board told me about making a Chanukah party version on the Five Second Rule game.

Needs a tea timer, and a stack of index cards with categories. You have to think of 3 things to fit the category in 5 seconds. Some Chanukah ideas -- 3 fried things, 3 maccabbim, 3 Chanukah symbols, 3 people you give Chanukah gifts or gelt to, etc.

This is more entertainment than a game for all to play, but if the men at the party are willing to be good sports you should do this!

Set up a table with 5 raw potatoes, a peeler and a doll for each participating man.

All the married men at the party have to stand at the table.

They should each take out their cell phones and start talking on their phones, while holding the doll, and peeling the potatoes.

Whoever finishes peeling all their potatoes first wins.

It's very funny to watch!
