I never tried dry yeast, however I don't think it should be a problem. I use the recipe for both pizza and calzone. I use regular whole wheat flour.

I didn't get to make it yet. Would it make a diff in the recipe if I use white whole wheat?

I posted a recipe in the healthy cooking forum for soft whole wheat pretzels. I made calzones with that dough and it came out heaven. You can use apple juice instead of the water I guess.
