How does connecting with LinkedIn people work?
I have lists of people I know on there:
- past co-workers (like 7 years ago)
- current co-workers
- ex recent co-workers
- relatives
- friends from school
- spouses of friends from school
- relatives of relatives
who do I connect with? is it strange to connect with co-workers now you've been working with for over 7 years? That you haven't worked with for 7 years? With people you don't work with?
What is normal and what is awkward?

I don't think there are any official rules to LinkedIn. I think it's worth it to connect to past colleagues since then you'll know what they are doing and can network with them more easily. I don't really see the purpose in connecting with my friends, since I think that's more what Facebook is for, but I don't mind it either.

I just realized if I look up someone's profile but don't connect they can see that to. makes me feel kind of nosy.
