My grandmother used to make a potato and meat cholent from grated potatoes. The consistency was similar to a potato kugel. She said it was a typical polish cholent.
I'd love if someone has such a recipe and directions about how to make it in a crockpot.
Thanks.

So I did a search for yapsuk and came up with 6 results. ra_mom you actually have directions in one of the threads. I think you said to do the whole thing in the crockpot.
But most recipes said to start out in the oven and continue in the crockpot. Do you have to bake it in the oven? Can a regular crock pot go in the oven?

If you want a kugel like consistancy, you need to start it in the oven.
Unfortunately, a regular crockpot cannot go in the oven. It will crack.
You can buy disposable pans that are similar in size to your crock. Start off in the oven. Then transfer from pan to crock.
(for more search results, you can try yapchik, and other such spelling.)
