Ask at a fabric store. There's also some stuff online. I'm not in Brooklyn though, so I can't give you specific info.

They closed down Sad , sort of. Either way, no sewing lessons. I believe Mrs. Fishman in Kensington gives. I know someone here once asked for her number, but I don't think she ever got any responses. I know she advertises, or at least used to, in the jewish ad magazines.

I never took sewing lessons from her but my mother did over 30 years ago and she did a great job. I also have met her and know some of her kids and she is a doll of a lady. I was thinking of taking sewing lessons and would go to her.

they didnt close down. I saw them advertising recently. I thought they just became a quilting store and stopped selling dress fabrics.

save a thon has various crafting classes including crocheting, sewing, pattern-making, etc. I don't know if the classes are especially good, but I'm guessing they're good since they have specific topics as opposed to just plain old "sewing" classes.
