a full back booster. has a loop in the back that secures the seatbelt at the right height for that age child as well. (back can be removed when child is older so that it converts to a regular booster as well.)

looks something like this, but this is not the one we have

My daughter, just over 4, is still in the same car seat that we brought her home from the hospital in. A proper car seat that still leans back a bit.

We are visiting my in laws now and my MIL bought a booster and I am extremely nervous about my daughter in that. All it is is a little bit of a raise from the seat. I cant wait to get back home and for her to get back in to the proper car seat. I will put her in there until she does not fit or her weight is too much for the seat.

My kids are 4 and 6. They are both in the Sunshine Radian 5-point harness car seat, which goes up to 80 pounds.

5 point harness - he is a big kid, so I'm not sure how much longer. Maybe one more year.

Typical 5 point harness Evenflo car seat. It is still safety advised and I am in no rush to move to booster for a little while longer at least.

Wondering the same for my 3 year old. Went to look at booster seats for her, as this is the age we transfered our son to a booster as well. She's so tiny & petite, I'd realy not feel like she's fastened secure. She's unhappy, since she was looking fwd to a big girl chair, wondering same as op, just one year younger

Same as ra mom - a high back booster, with a loop for the seatbelt.

High back booster with 5 point harness.

(It has an option to use car's seatbelt and/ or remove the back eventually)

Shilav home brand, bought in Israel.

My almost 6 year old and 4 year olds are both in 5 point harnesses. 4 year old is in a Britax Roundabout. My YDS's Britax Marathon is expiring at the end of this year so I'll be switching my (then) 6 year old to a high back booster then.
Children should be in a 5 point harness until they are mature enough to sit in a booster properly, ie. not slouch, lean over, etc.

^yeah to almost all of that (my kids are in Radians).

In Canada, the child must be 40lbs MINIMUM to move to a booster. I would assume it's the same in the US but not sure elsewhere. Both my boys rear-faced until they outgrew the RF Radian around 3.5 (weight).
