anyone have a recipe to replicate the Estihana shredded crispy chicken. did anyone try playing around with it? im absolutely in love with that chicken but cannot afford calorie and cash wise to buy it whenever im in the mood of it so im looking for a homemade crispy shredded chicken with the same flavoring. tia

I never tried this with chicken but I assume you could just substitute. It's amazing!

Crispy Beef:
beef cut into strips, pepper steak or minute steak
1/2 cup teriyaki sauce--(the author uses as much billy bee honey sake teriyaki as she wants, added to the next three ingredients)
1/4 cup vinegar
2 tablespoos sugar (add alittle more if you like) plus a couple tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce

cut beef into thin strips and coat with corn starch. Fry in oil until very brown and crunchy.
Remove from pan and set aside.
combine vinegar, sugar, honey and soy sauce. Pour sauce over meat and stir.
let simmer for a bit so the meat absorbs the sauce.

Yup. It's yummy. Very strong tasting for ppl like DH who don't love soy sauce, but I think it's really good.

I make a version of the beef recipe, subbing some orange juice for half the teriyaki sauce. Add a few tablespoons of marmalade, and as much siraccha hot sauce as you like. It comes out tasting just like General Tzao!

I made it with the beef but it tastes nothing like estihana's. Was not a great recipe even without the comparison.
