Comedies: parks and rec, new girl, 30 rock, modern family, glee
Drama: Downton Abby, parenthood, mad men. I don't like the scary/gory shows.
(I also unfortunately like some reality shows -guilty pleasure)
I loved Gilmore girls back in the day!

Op here I am almost done season 1 with revenge but I don't get why Emily is so mean to Nolan?
I am also confused who that Hong Kong guy is?
I also love Glee forgot to say I watched that.
About Chopped I used to watch that but it got boring after a while. I like Masterchef Australia and New Zealand where you get to really know the contestants.

Monk- my favorite of all times, it's over,but there are 8 seasons. it's not about Monks at all.. Interesting, funny and pretty clean.
Psych- Love it, funny and entertaining, season will restart in spring, really fun..overall clean
Raising Hope, cute and quirky..
The Middle,
Law and order, SVU, watched every episode
Cold Case, finished too,
I watch some others that have been mentioned like
Modern Family
Desperate Housewives (miss it)
The good wife
parenthood
the office
parks and recreation
Melissa and Joey

If you liked Gilmore Girls, you'll like Bunheads - same creative team and there's some overlap in the cast. I also like Separated at Birth. Both of these are teen-oriented shows, but they're definitely watchable by adults. (IOW, you don't have to worry about making a London Tipton reference - not that Little Old Moi ever did that  )
I can watch Chopped and Iron Chef America 24/7. I also love Dragon's Den and Shark Tank. There's also Till Debt Do Us Part and Princess, with the awesome Gail Vaz-Oxlade. My "don't judge me" shows are Toddlers and Tiaras and Sister Wives. And Extreme Cheapskates, which has me yelling "Oh no he di'nt" at the TV every. single. episode.

One of those shoes doesn't have the "happy ending" you would expect, I wouldn't recommend just for that reason. I was VERY disappointed. Don't want to say which, so that in case you do want to watch, it's not spoiled.

These shows are over already, but you can find them online and they are great:
Las Vegas - drama/comedy. It has great characters , some men and some woman. Really entertaining
Chuck - its a believable sci fi with the main characters a man and woman. Also a comedy/action
The unit - its a full action show but I really liked
Alias - an action spy show with a woman as the main character
Enjoy!
