I don't think you'll get much of a response on this one. Why would anyone want to make their kid wear contacts? What's wrong with good ol' glasses?

when I was younger the ophthalmologist wanted my parents to get me contacts at age 4. second opinion said its not necessary. years later we went back to the first one for a different reason and again he pushed contacts, we asked a third ophthalmologist and she said that no studies proved yet that contacts kept the number from growing, what they had seen was if the kid stops wearing contacts the number jumps. this was about 10 years ago.

OP, are you asking because of a particular eye condition that would require a young child to wear contacts or just to replace regular glasses?

Why would you think that?
There was an article in this week's Ami about young children and contact lenses, and they had interviews with 3 woman.
I think OP was looking for people to share their experiences so she could add them to her article.
Her thread seemed odd to me from the start.

Oh-- sorry, I thought you were posting in the thread about the serials. It does seem like this was a writer trying to get info for an article.
