My daughter woke up crying, after she had been sleeping a few hours that it hurt her a lot down below.
I put diaper cream on her v@gina and we went back to sleep. She woke up two more times and finally she took a bath at midnight.
Then I looked closely to see what could be bothering her there and it looked like she had been scratched up and down (one long line) the outer lips of the v@gin@. How in the world does one get cut there? She is in nursery school if that makes any difference.

More than likely that she was itchy and scratched herself with a fingernail that was a drop too long, or even a corner of a fingernail that wasn't trimmed.
other options are:
worms, which could make her itchy
She was playing around with something in the bath or when changing and it scratched her.
really there are lots of options, so don't panic.

Pinworms can be real itchy. And the kid can itch when sleeping.

Maybe a yeast infection?

I agree- she prob scratched herself from itching. Check her for a rash or pinworms. Hope she feels better soon!

Could she have hurt herself on the playground? I have a childhood memory of slipping off the jungle gym and hitting a bar between my legs, and getting cuts there. Or perhaps slipping on a tricycle or bicycle? Since it's a delicate area, a small amount of trauma could tear the skin.

I thought pinworms were just in the behind, no?
Also, the scratches were clearly outside, not at all inside.

pinworms are found in both places.
