For those interested, the Shanie5 family theme this year is RED

We have RED riding hood, Caught RED handed, RED devil, RED coat soldier, and RED herring.

MM is, an organic strawberry flavored (RED) fruit twist, a twizzler, and small bag of craisins in a red vase shaped bag.

And here is our poem: (to be copied on RED paper of coarse!)

It’s a RED LETTER day for Purim this year

Cross out the word letter & our theme is quite clear.

From that one word, we branched out far & wide

We had fun with it-so get REDdy for the ride.

Our costumes represent RED in one way or another

From the youngest devil child to the RED handed brother.

Can you guess who we are, what we’re supposed to be?

It seems to me to be self explanatory.

DD1’s RED RIDING HOOD with her basket of sweets

DS’s CAUGHT RED HANDED stealing those treats

DD3’s the little RED DEVIL who talked him into his greed

While DD2’s the RED COAT soldier who stopped him mid-deed.

So your treats are all safe in its little RED sack

Not a single one was stolen-we got them all back.

Of course they’re all in a different shade of RED

But this poem isn’t over-there’s more to be said.

For Shanie5’s costume seems to have no RED source…

Well, that’s cause she a RED HERRING to throw you off course!

We hope you enjoyed having RED our little rhyme

And wish you a FREILICHIN Purim one more time!

Wow, Just Wow.
And this from an avowed hater of Purim rhyme. But, no, I don't hate Purim rhyme. I just hate bad Purim rhyme, stupid Purim rhyme, mediocre Purim rhyme and pointless Purim rhyme. I have the deepest appreciation for clever Purim rhyme, well-crafted Purim rhyme, witty Purim rhyme and on-target Purim rhyme, all of which Shanie5 has accomplished. I give it five RED stars.

Thank you zaq embarrassed embarrassed I do try!

I asked my boss today if he would like to read the poem. He said "NO, I look forward to reading it on purim, when I sit down with my cup of coffee. I don't want to ruin the anticipation!"

You inspired me, Shanie!

I always do something, but was missing my DD, who was my partner in this project and was married just after Pesach. I was just about ready to give up when DH brought home a huge package of impulse bought rainbow cookies from Costco, and then I read your post. Here's mine, now, with many thanks.

In the third year of Achashveirosh's... RAIN
Our colorful story started; .
In PURPLE robes, the king feasted .
And from Vashti, he was parted. .
.
His search let him to Hadassah, .
Who turned a little GREEN .
When she thought about the fact .
That she would be a queen. .
.
Next, Haman ROSE to power .
And everyone did kowtow .
Except, of course, for Mordechai, .
Who just refused to ........................BOW.

Mordechai overheard the BLACK plans
Of two YELLOW-bellied guards
Esther told how Mordechai
Heard it in the king's front yards.

When Haman got permission
To murder all the Jews,
Mordechai turned WHITE with fear
And started singing the BLUES.

The people all fasted and davened
As Esther's feet grew cold,
But the king smiled when she entered,
And held out his scepter of GOLD.

A party, a sleepless night,
The king asked for his book to be RED
Just when Haman, entering the palace,
Was dreaming that we'd all be dead.

So excited to be at the party
(His nose was really BROWN),
But his outlook wasn't so PEACHy
When leading Mordechai through town.

At the end, Esther told Achashveirosh
"It is Haman who wants me dead."
"How could he wish such a thing?" asked the king;
"Is there something wrong with his head?"

It was a GRAY time for our enemies
When the thirteenth of Adar came;
ORANGE you glad for the תפילה
That saved us once again?

The moral of our Purim TEAL
Is very CLEAR to see;
When we think that things are hopeless,
We're wrong as we can be.

Just like Esther's identity hidden,
And when it's raining, you can't see the bow,
So, we learn from the Megillah
That ה' "צבע"ות runs the show.

פורים שמח from the Imasinger family!

Contents: Blueberries, blackberries, oranges, brownies, rainbow cookies, and a few hamentaschen.

This is a poem I got in Mishloach Manos from a woman who has six-month old twins.
The entire family wore bees costume, and gave honey cake inside a bee-themed box.

This year we've been busy as two little bees.
We learn, we explore, we crawl on our knees.
Our family hive is always abuzz
With the new things I do, or my twin sister does.

Although we're still pretty young for Purim's mitzvot,
We still feel compelled, as our parents' banot,
To say a quick word about Chag Hapureem,
A time when events were not quite what they seemed.

The Jews worked together just like bees in a hive,
To protect our Queen who helped keep us alive,
And we learn that when Jews act as one it's the best,
For when there is achdut, Hashem does the rest.

To celebrate we eat, bring friends treats, and give money,
So this is for you from two girls sweet as honey!

Love, (Names of twins and parents)
