My son is allergic to tree nuts, and all the granola I see in stores says made in nut facility or may contain traces of nuts. Any "allergy moms" out there who've found nut-free granola? (I know you can order online, I'm hoping to find locally.)

I also make my own. Not worth the risk. (And many, many granola bars actually have almonds and walnuts and/or peanuts etc. in one flavour or another, so I don't trust the manufacturing lines anyway.)

I was going to tell you I found this great granola ... no nuts ... however & unfortunately they are made in a nutty facility ... wonder why they can't take that extra precaution

oh well - it's not that hard to make granola ... a few trustee ingredients a little balking & voila

1/4 cup canola oil
1/3 cup apple cider
1/2 cup maple syrup or silan

2/3 cup raisins
1 cup dried apple slices - cubed
2/3 cup craisins

Mix dry ingredients. Mix liquids and pour over dry ingred., mix. Line large baking pan with baking paper and spread ingredients evenly. Bake 25-35 minutes at low heat. (150 centigrade) Mix every 10 min. to ensure even baking. Remove from oven, cool, then mix in dried fruits.
