The chinuch aspect is important to me. So I daven at a haskama minyan and am yotzay megilla at that time. Then I offer to ds4 to come to the regular leining. I tell him ahead of time to let me know when he's ready to leave and then we go.

This is also a pet peeve of mine.
We lived in the States when my kids were very young. It was very difficult to find a late evening reading but I managed because letting my kids make noise and ruin megillah for other people was not an option. Unfortunately, many women did not feel that way.
In our neighborhood here in EY there are zillions of readings at a variety of times. And still, last year when my shul was specially designated as the "quiet reading" people came with toddlers and infants and did not take them out when they made noise.
