B"H ALL of my children and grandchildren will be with us this year. this is the first time in forever that that is happening; always one son or another stayed in his yeshiva. Now we will be 18 people for half the meals!! (one DIL's family is in walking distance).

I propose a new chag that involves taking all the women who made chag this year away to some very quiet, very relaxing spa for three days. Who is with me ?? Chag Samech! Ktiva v'Hatima Tova to all

Thank you! 2 questions- you puree the rice in the soup? Also does this freeze well?

FINALLY I CAN PARTICIPATE.

I am usually way, way WAY behind schedule but NOT this year...
Wednesday Night
We are O-U-T!

Thursday Lunch we are hosting!

Gefilta Fish or Teriyaki Salmon
Garden Salad with Balsamic vinaigrette

Honey Roasted Zaatar Chicken with Dried Fruit
or
French Roast in Red Wine, Apricots, and assorted dried fruit

Apple Lukshen Kugel
Vegetable Kugel
Cabbage and Bowties
Oven Roasted Brussel Sprouts

Dessert
Brownies Ala Mode
or
Apple cake

The rest of the meals are a version of the above except I also will be making:
Pineapple Chicken
Brown Rice
Oven Roasted cauliflower
Oven Roasted Broccolli
Cranberry Brisket

I'm also making my own round challah glazed with honey.

I am VERY proud of myself because I work full time and I am on a mission not to kvetch, whine or complain this Tishrei. Instead I am just DOING all the shopping and cookign and getting my kids to help with the cleaning up and buying the odd stray ingredient.

THIS IS PROGRESS FOR ME LADIES!!

Also---my husband, of 23 years who I love has recently lost his mind and invited 27 of our relatives over for a Barbecue on Sunday after Rosh Hashana.

I did NOT whine, kvetch or have a stroke.
Instead I told him he should get organized and make a list of all the things he needs for the barbecue.
I did NOT offer my services. I suggested he buy ready made cole slaw, potato sald, guacamole and salsa along with hotdogs and hamburgers. I did offer to marinate the chicken.

I did not rant.

The lesson I learned is eventually everyone evolves into a mature adult.
Especially me.

Shana Tova EVERYONE!!!!
