I just took out a bag of cabbage to make cabbage n noodles, and I see that the cabbage is wet, and it smells sharper than usual (though not necessarily a spoiled smell). How do I know if its still ok to use?
TIA

When that happens I throw it out.
Would you taste it?

Wash it in a strainer then taste. If its just "going" & you're cooking it, it's ok if it's not spoiled. You will need to spice it well.
The past 2 times I bought shredded cabbage- even though it was well before the expiry date, this happened. Once I had to throw it out & once I was able to cook it. Now I'm only buying whole cabbage!

I try to buy it as close to cooking as possible. I find that they never keep until the expiration date. Same with lettuce. You may be able to exchange it in the store you bought it in. I did it once when a day after I bought it, it had liquid in the bad.
