ואהבתם את־הגר כי־גרים הייתם בארץ מצרים׃. דברים פרק י, פסוק יט
you should love the convert because we were all strangers in the land of egypt
this mitzvah goes alongside with respect as well !!!
[since it was deleted elsewhere - I'll give it a thread of it's own]

You're right.
Too bad sometimes people forget about it.

Not only are we never to remind a convert of his origins, but we are are to give them tremendous respect because their road to Yiddishkeit has been a long and difficult journey that they chose, not born into. In general, their level of spirituality is way above ours. And they take their Yiddishkeit more seriously. I am fortunate to count many geirim among my closest friends!

I would say the road to Judaism as well as the road through Judaism is a difficult one. the Torah may be the truth but not everybody recognizes it (fellow frummies, I mean).

I, for one, am in awe and full admiration for those who converted and for the BTs. It must take so much strength, discipline and courage to search for the truth an live for the truth. I wish I can steal some for myself.
Hashem should bless them all!!!!
