I think (am I right, op?) that op is deciding between the Samsung Galaxy S4 or the iPhone 5. Still googleable, and I LOVED that link, but a bit harder decision.
I bought the s3 because there are more app options with a droid than an iPhone, and I have been brainwashed by dh - whether he's right or not I can't tell you - that apple is only good at computers. Regardless, I'm very happy with the s3. They say the s4 is the same thing with more motion options.

I have a galaxy tablet and an iphone 4 and I find the iphone smoother and less likely to crash.

I'm very happy with the Iphone 5.
Personally, I found the Galaxy to be way to big (for my small hands). I like the Iphone, it's simple, easy to use, lightweight and straight forward

I still think you should read reviews- Googling "samsung galaxy s4 vs. iphone 5" yielded me lots of comparative reviews. If you want people's opinions, perhaps elaborate on what you want from your smartphone. Good luck!

My DH has the galaxy, and he loves it!! It is great if you need to any business related things on it- he does use it a lot for his business.
Everything is clear and the apps are outstanding!

I would use the phone primarily for phone calls (duh), texting, navigation system, camera, access to store hours and locations (internet).
